2 Easy, Healthy Superfood Smoothie Recipes
In this video I am going to show you how I prepare two simple recipes of highly nourishing, low-calorie, energy boosting smoothies that will fill you up and satisfy you at any meal of the day.
SMOOTHIE RECIPES:
Revitalize Energy Booster Breakfast Smoothie Recipe:
1 cup of blueberries
½ cup of beetroot (peeled & chopped)
½ banana
½ orange
½ apple
¼ avocado
½ teaspoon of ginger (peeled & chopped)
2-3 cups of milk of choice
(*Add ice to make it chilled)
Lean & Green Immunity Booster Smoothie Recipe:
2 kiwis
½ orange
¼ avocado
1 handful of spinach
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
2-3 cups of milk of choice
(*Add ice to make it chilled)
(* In all of my smoothie recipes I use organic fruits and vegetables. Be sure to wash and rinse the produce thoroughly)
INGREDIENTS’ HEALTH BENEFITS
:
BEETROOT
They are low in calories and high in fiber, antioxidants and an array of important micronutrients, including folate, manganese, potassium and vitamin C. Potential benefits of beets include reduced inflammation, cleansing the liver, improved detoxification, improved blood circulation. Beets have been shown to help cleanse the blood. The high content of iron regenerates the red blood cells and supplies fresh oxygen to the body.
LEMON
Lemon is an antiseptic ingredient, that can resolve a lot of skin-related issues. And it can bring a lovely luminous glow to the skin.
Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, an important nutrient that’s been linked to increased immune health. Lemons are also loaded with antioxidants that can help fight inflammation and promote improved immunity.
CARROT
Carrots contain vitamin A, antioxidants, and other nutrients. Evidence suggests that eating more antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables, such as carrots, can help reduce the risks of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Carrots are also rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Carrots nourish the skin, keep it moisturized, help preventing psoriasis and other skin blemishes. It also has powerful cleansing properties that can help treating acne.
AVOCADO
Avocados make a filling addition to any meal or snack and they are a nutrient-dense fruit that contain about 20 vitamins and minerals. They are packed with fiber and they have the highest protein and lowest sugar content of any fruit. Given its nutritious make-up, it provides many benefits. These include better heart and digestive health; they help you achieve healthier skin, shinier hair and bright eyes; they help with weight loss as they make you to feel fuller and more satisfied.
Protein — Avocados are on the list of top protein foods. Having the highest protein and lowest sugar content of any fruit, avocados offer a unique balance to building lean muscle mass and burning fat.
SPINACH
Spinach is a nutritious veggie with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. If you combine that with its very low amount of calories, it is easily one of the most nutrient-dense foods in existence. Benefits of spinach include preserving skin health, detoxification and protection of brain functions.Also, being rich in iron it can help people with anemia.
KIWI and ORANGE
Both known for their high vitamin C content, kiwifruit and oranges are both great, healthy options to add to your diet.
Both have strong antioxidant abilities and immune-boosting power, thanks to high levels of vitamin C and other nutrients.
Both fruits are able to help with digestion issues. Oranges can act as diuretics and help draw out toxins from the digestive tract. Kiwifruit is an anti-inflammatory food and helps decrease symptoms of digestive illnesses.
GINGER
Ginger helps improve circulation to the skin. It is also a powerful cleansing agent that helps keep the skin free of blemishes.
It has anti-Inflammatory effects and can reduce muscle pain. It contains around 40 antioxidants. It also evens the skin tone and improves its elasticity. Ginger root is another great fat burner, especially around the belly.
