1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons clear vanilla extract
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp. rainbow sprinkles, divided, plus more for garnish

FROSTING
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
pinch baking powder

    Why the pinch of baking powder? Never heard of putting it in the frosting!
