How to make the PERFECT Matcha Green Tea Cake | RECIPE

A moist matcha green tea cake with green tea buttercream! This is my favourite cake recipe and the matcha makes it not TOO sweet, but perfectly balanced with the sweet buttercream! RECIPE BELOW!

Ingredients

Cake Batter:
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups sugar
3 tsp vanilla extract
6 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp matcha green tea powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sour cream

Buttercream:
2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract or seeds from 1 vanilla bean
5 cups confectioner’s sugar
3 tbsp matcha green tea powder

Extra matcha green tea powder, for dusting
